I have a child's understanding of payday:
This drawing is worse than my usual high standard, because I'm nursing a range of injuries, all of them to my hands. Several are papercuts- the main hazard of office work. One is because yesterday, somebody chose to park in front of my gate, so when I returned, I had to put my bike down in a patch of thorns (there was nowhere else) and clamber over the car to get inside my house while carrying all the shopping, and then I went back to get the bike having deposited my shopping inside, slicing my finger open in the process.
But yes, payday. It's bad to give me all my month's money in one go,because I spend the rest of the month mentally spending it. This month my main expense will be SWEDISH LESSONS, which is quite a sensible purchase. However, a giant, wearable knitted beard is not. I'm trying to persuade people to get it for me for my birthday, but with little success. Even though I would love it and wear it every day.
I'm not a big spender really. I'm stupidly frugal. My energy bills are very low because I am Jim Royle. In the sense of being frugal and in no other sense whatsoever.

Is this beard you speak of available online? I would love to see a picture of it. I have the same joyous feeling about payday. However, most of it has been spent already. Bills and rats. They take all my money xD

She wouldn’t mind, I’m sure. She’s a knitting/crochet demon. She’s been doing loads for this craft fair at this weekend, and now she doesn’t have a project. She’s unemployed, so has a lot of time on her hands. She could probably do it half/third of the price as the one on Etsy!

:O :O :O Really?? Omg yes. The best one is the middle on the bottom row (the one with horns) and ideally, I’d like the beard to be reddish (to match my hair). If this is doable.
This is amazing of your mum. How shall we arrange suitable recompense? Does she have paypal? (feel free to message me on Facebook, obvs)
This has made me unnaturally happy.

I’ll email her the link and see if she is sure she can create the one you want! She keeps meaning to set up an Etsy account, so once that’s up and running, she can create a reserved listing for you and then you can pay via PayPal. Like me, she is terrible at selling herself and said she’d do it for nothing, and then I asked her what the materials would cost (£5) and suggested £15 (she still said no, haha, but she seems happier with that than anything higher). Does that sound okay to you?

Awww, that sounds perfect! 😀 I’m certainly happy with £15, although I’d go higher if necessary (I reckon they must take up a lot of wool!). Let me know when the Etsy account is up!

I shall do! I’ll find out how long it takes her to make it, too. But it definitely won’t be anywhere near £48! My mum couldn’t believe those prices.

I have a child’s understanding of payday:
Kind of reminds me of when I was young – about five or so. My mum told me that my dad went to work to earn money. I had this image that work involved sitting on a bench waiting for his turn to come up to go to a little window and collect some money, and then going back to the bench and waiting again…until eventually he’d collected all the money for the day and went home.
I wish work was really like that…

Aww, that’s adorable! Yeah, it’d be nice if work was like that. I could take along a book!

That is ultimate and in a weird way I think it would suit you (I hope you take this as a compliment not as a weird insult xD!!!)

She said she can do it. Do you have a preference as to which one you’d like it to look like?

😀 😀 😀 😀 *beard joy* 😀 😀 😀 😀

I shall do! I’ll find out how long it takes her to make it, too. But it definitely won’t be anywhere near £48! My mum couldn’t believe those prices.
